Ducati ProTeam was formed in early 2003 when Alec Short realised there was a gap in the market for a specialist Ducati workshop and service centre, a company that could provide a high level of service for the customer, whilst ensuring costs were kept realistic.
At this time Ducati were firmly at the forefront (and still are) of WSB / BSB and it made sense to establish Ducati Pro Team. Of course with Ducati's resurgence in MotoGP the brand is enjoying high level exposure and taking the fight directly to the Japanese marques.
Alec's love of Ducati's started after owning a 900SS closely followed by an 851 SP2 which really set his heart alight and gave him the passion for the Ducati brand that still exists to this day. Here is a picture of Alec on track using the SP2 to its full potential.
In the mid to late 1990's Alec's passion for all other marques of motorcycle lead him to heading up the technical side of BT Phone Cards Superstock Team.
Success with the BT Phone Cards Team quickly lead onto the Page 3 British Superstock Team. Both teams enjoyed success's with their riders claiming numerous podiums, culminating with the top honours of winning the cherished British Superstock title for the Page 3 Team.
In 2015 Glen Horncastle joined Ducati Pro Team to help release the non technical workload on Alec, they have been friends now for over 35 years and below is a picture of them racing at Snetterton in the early 1980's. Alec is on a 500c Hagon and Glen is on a 250LC.
Glen has had varied business experience and in the past has owned and operated successful logistic and events companies.
Two years before joining Ducati Pro Team Glen operated his own Management company before deciding to take the plunge in June 2015 and getting himself immersed in the fabulous world of Ducati's.
With over 50 years of motorcycle experience between them you can rest assured your Ducati will be in good hands and looked after as if it were their own.
